Decarbonizing Energy-Intensive Cement Operations

Connecting European Alternative Fuels with Industrial Co-Processing

ESNAD Energy acts as a licensed downstream industrial integrator: developing a broad, non-exclusive network of qualified European and UK SRF/RDF producers, delivering turnkey cement kiln balance-of-plant modifications, and ensuring strict transboundary regulatory governance.

Non-ExclusiveSupplier Network

Active engagement with European & UK SRF/RDF producers, traders, and exporters without single-source dependency.

6-Gate ProtocolEvidence Screening

Mandatory entity verification, permit mapping, multi-batch laboratory analysis, and title confirmation.

Turnkey EPCKiln Integration

Reception halls, automated dosing, pneumatic/mechanical conveying, burner injection, and CEMS monitoring.

Basel CompliantTransboundary Controls

Every consignment governed by verified destination permits, PIC notifications, and pre-shipment inspections.

Where ESNAD Energy Fits in the Alternative Fuel Market

ESNAD Energy bridges international waste-derived fuel supply chains with heavy industrial demand in Sudan. We operate not as a speculative broker, but as an integrated downstream partner delivering offtake assurance, plant engineering, and regulatory clearance.

1. Demand Aggregation & Offtake

We aggregate baseline thermal demand from licensed cement manufacturers in Sudan seeking to substitute costly imported fossil fuels with high-grade solid recovered fuels under stable long-term contracts.

  • Verified kiln co-processing permits
  • Continuous 12-month baseline offtake schedules

2. European Supply Coordination

We develop and maintain non-exclusive sourcing agreements across the UK and Continental Europe, verifying that every lot originates from permitted production sites with certified chemical and physical properties.

  • Separation of producer, trader, and exporter roles
  • Audited batch analyses and sampling protocols

3. Plant Engineering & EPC

Drawing on ESNAD Energy’s 17+ years in industrial piping, structural execution, and facility modifications, we deliver the reception, dosing, conveying, and burner systems required to safely burn AF.

  • Balance-of-plant design and turnkey execution
  • ATEX fire suppression & CEMS integration

Cement Plant Modifications & Balance-of-Plant EPC

Co-processing solid alternative fuel requires precise handling and combustion control to avoid ring formation, kiln instability, or refractory damage. ESNAD Energy coordinates and delivers the complete engineering envelope.

No Process Disruption Guarantee

Engineered bypasses and dual-firing setups preserve clinker production schedules during system commissioning.

Strict Thermal & Combustion Modeling

Evaluation of chlorine/alkali balances, precalciner residence times, and kiln gas velocities prior to equipment fabrication.

MODULE 01

Reception & De-wiring

Walking-floor receiving hoppers, automated bale de-wiring stations, cross-belt magnetic separators for tramp-metal extraction, and intermediate buffer silos.

MODULE 02

Storage & ATEX Fire Safety

Dedicated negative-pressure storage halls with thermal imaging cameras for early hotspot detection, automatic water/foam deluge systems, and ATEX explosion vents.

MODULE 03

Gravimetric Dosing & Conveying

High-accuracy apron weigh-feeders providing ±1% mass flow precision, coupled with enclosed air-cushion or high-capacity mechanical chain conveyors to prevent spillage.

MODULE 04

Burner & Calciner Injection

Multi-channel kiln main burner retrofits for fine SRF injection (d95 < 30mm) and double-flap airlock chutes feeding coarser RDF (d95 < 80mm) into the precalciner riser.

Evidence-Gated Supplier Qualification (The 6 Gates)

We do not accept marketing claims or single certificates of analysis. Every supplier must pass six mandatory non-negotiable verification gates before advancing to commercial discussions or purchase orders.

GATE 01

Identity & Corporate Verification

Verification of official legal entity name, registration number (Companies House, KVK, RCS, etc.), registered office, and authorized signatory powers.

Mandatory: Company registry extract & VIES/VAT match
GATE 02

Chain of Custody & Role Separation

Explicit documentation distinguishing the producing facility, title owner, intermediary/broker, and legal exporter of record.

Mandatory: Documented right to sell & batch trace
GATE 03

Environmental Permits & Authorizations

Active environmental permits covering physical waste processing, fuel production, storage, and waste broker/dealer registration.

Mandatory: Verified site permit & regulator standing
GATE 04

Multi-Batch Technical Quality Dossier

Certified testing over multiple production batches detailing NCV, moisture, chlorine, ash, particle size distribution, and heavy metals.

Mandatory: Minimum 3 independent recent lab reports
GATE 05

Production Capacity & Maritime Logistics

Documented uncommitted production volumes, seasonal availability, wire-tied UV-wrapped bale standards, and container/breakbulk stuffing capacity.

Mandatory: Confirmed load port & monthly allocation
GATE 06

Transboundary & Basel Shipment Compliance

Verifiable compliance with Basel Convention PIC mechanisms, relevant EU Waste Shipments Regulation pathways, and Sudan import licenses.

Mandatory: Redacted shipping documents / PIC experience

Standards notice: EN ISO 21640:2021 classifies SRF using NCV, chlorine and mercury only. The displayed moisture, ash, particle-size and logistics values are preliminary ESNAD screening or engineering targets, not universal CEN limits. Final thresholds depend on kiln chemistry, plant design, environmental permits, sampling results and shipment-specific approvals.

Transboundary Waste Governance & Anti-Speculation Policy

International waste shipments are heavily scrutinized and strictly controlled. ESNAD Energy enforces zero tolerance for regulatory ambiguity, ensuring complete alignment with the Basel Convention, European export regulations, and national Sudanese environmental laws.

No Speculative Cargoes

No consignment is loaded without verified production origin, signed supply contracts, and active import permits issued to the receiving cement facility.

Prior Informed Consent (PIC) & Annex VII Protocols

Coordination between competent authorities of dispatch, transit, and destination, with complete financial guarantees and Movement Documents.

Independent Third-Party Verification

Every maritime shipment is sampled and analyzed at loading port and discharge port by certified international inspection agencies (e.g., SGS, Bureau Veritas).

Regulatory Notice for European & UK Exporters

Under Regulation (EU) 2024/1157 and applicable UK Waste Shipments Regulations, alternative fuel shipments destined for non-OECD recovery facilities require rigorous classification, proof of environmentally sound management (ESM), and confirmed receiving plant R1 status.

• LoW/EWC: determined for the specific material and jurisdiction
• Basel / shipment procedure: subject to stream and route classification
• Receiving facility: subject to licence, permit and process acceptance
• Destination route: subject to competent-authority and port confirmation
